02 Sep 13 | Screen NSW projects nominated for AWGIE Awards

Screen NSW congratulates all NSW nominees for the 46th Annual AWGIE Awards to be held by the Australian Writers' Guild (AWG) at the Plaza Ballroom in Melbourne on Friday October 4. Fifteen Screen NSW nominated projects received a total of twenty-three nominations across ten categories.

02 Sep 13 | NSW films screen in Venice, Telluride and Toronto

Screen NSW congratulates all NSW films screening this month at the Venice Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival.

The Venice Film Festival runs from 28 August to 7 September and will screen Amiel Courtin-Wilson and Michael Cody’s film Ruin, and John Curran’s Tracks starring Mia Wasikowska. The Toronto International Film Festival runs from 5-15 September and will screen four Screen NSW supported films.

2 Sep 13 | Wasabi Productions launches Gorilla Band

Wasabi Productions, has launched Gorilla Band, a new storybook app for 2-7 year olds.

Gorilla Band places the reader at the center of the story, unfolding through their interaction, and takes place in a dynamic and dazzling 3D jungle set. It comes complete with original animations, originally scored instrumental tracks, songs, dancing and an educational studio where readers can learn to identify instruments by sound and name.

02 Sep 13 | Ausfilm weeks in London and Los Angeles

Ausfilm’s targeted UK television mission – Ausfilm Television Week London - will take place from October 13-16. Following this event, the fifth annual Ausfilm Week LA will take place from October 21 – 25, which aims to create, build upon and develop international relationships between Ausfilm members with key clients in Los Angeles to encourage international production to Australia.

Screen NSW congratulates the successful applicants of the Australian Writers' Guild Kids Animation Masterclass which will take place in Sydney this September. The field of entrants was of a very high standard across Australia and sixteen successful applicants were chosen by competitive application.

Aurora, Screen NSW's premium feature script development program, is offering a new, flexible, option for filmmakers from today.

Aurora will now take different forms in alternate years. In 2013-14 Screen NSW is offering the Aurora Mentorship, a high level mentorship opportunity with script development funding.

Byron Bay Film Festival (BBFF) 2014 will run from February 28th to March 9th. BBFF are currently open for submissions.

BBFF encourages filmmakers and audiences to open their eyes, minds and hearts to new possibilities and experiences. the festival is passionate about supporting independent filmmakers in all stages of their careers. The festival features an award for the Best Young Australian Filmmaker which is open to Australian directors under 25 and offers young Australian filmmakers reduced entry fees for their films.
