Screen NSW is a partner agency of Industry and Investment NSW, with a key role in the creative and economic development of the state.

In August 2008 the New South Wales Film and Television Office (now trading as Screen NSW) released its five-year Strategic Plan, developed to be responsive to the dynamic and shifting needs of the screen production industry, including developments in digital production and delivery, and opportunities in financing, including through the Federal Producer's Offset.

The streamlining of red tape and the implementation of Film Friendly policies across NSW, combined with new competitive incentives to attract production to the state, reflect Screen NSW commitment to making NSW the most attractive state for screen production in Australia.

A one-off boost of $5 million to the Screen NSW Production Investment Fund announced in 2009 will support a strong domestic production industry.

Screen NSW's development program is now positioned to target essential moments in the development pathway, not always provided by federal and commercial sources - that is early Research and Development for projects at concept stage and Advanced Marketing and Development resources.

The Slingshot program includes the Emerging Filmmaker Fund, and supports screen professionals along the career development pathway.

The Industry and Audience Development program has a focus on strategic relationships with our partner organisations throughout NSW.

Screen NSW has a leadership role in promoting partnerships across the sector and providing "more than money" in connecting individuals and organisations, providing information through regular industry events, and supporting a vibrant and informed screen community.
