    Development Assistance & Finance Overview
At Screen NSW we help great ideas grow. We offer a range of flexible and open development programs to assist you in creating compelling screen experiences across all platforms.

Our four main programs of support are:
The Early Research & Development program is the main focus of Screen NSW's development work and is the area in which most of our resources will be spent. Through Early R&D we aim to support NSW key creatives during the critical early stage of a project's life, with both investment and feedback. And we want to relieve you of the burden of carrying all the early development costs on your own. We offer investment in the materials of early development. You can also apply here for funding for business consultants and the writing of business plans for your screen business company. We believe that early planning is important - and will result in projects getting off to a much stronger start.

The Advanced Development & Marketing program is for projects at the other end of the spectrum, that critical moment where they are being readied for - or are already courting - marketplace finance. This program will have a much smaller share of Screen NSW'S resources, and will be available to projects that either have previously been supported by Screen NSW, or are in the process of being financed. Because of the limited funds set aside for this program, competition will be tough.

Slingshot is a suite of career development programs, designed to keep you at the top of your game. Slingshot is the program that you apply to for mentorships, professional attachments and travel to festivals. It also includes our successful Visual Effects Placement Scheme, and our short film production program, the Emerging Filmmakers Fund (EFF).

Finally, we have our intensive feature film workshop, Aurora, where selected projects receive intensive script, financing and marketplace feedback from local and international advisors.

    Culture, Content and our Community
Screen NSW has a long and proud history of supporting projects that reflect the diverse backgrounds, experiences and cultures of the people who live in our State. Whether we're talking Indigenous Australians or eighth generation immigrants, we want our screens to reflect the world in which we live. A person's culture, race, religion or sexuality is no barrier to receiving Screen NSW funds.
