    Industry & Audience Development Overview
The Industry and Audience Development (IAD) program provides grants to organisations that provide opportunities for audiences to see and experience quality screen content and innovative practice, and that create professional development opportunities for screen practitioners throughout their career paths.

Screen NSW is looking to fund unique projects in NSW, that support NSW screen professionals, and to support partner organisations that meet and deliver on the strategic objectives of Screen NSW. Our Objectives include:

    • stimulating creative and business opportunities through new and strengthened partnerships,
    • promoting industry clusters and investing in initiatives that develop screen industry talent,
    • encouraging exploration, experimentation and mastery of new technologies and business approaches,
    • leveraging opportunities for information exchange and networking with partners across government and the digital content sector, and
    • promoting the contribution of the screen industry to the broader community.

We recently revised the IAD process with the aim of both streamlining the assessment process, so it can be more responsive to opportunities in the screen industry and community, and to build capacity in selected IAD partners through an increased emphasis on business planning and building business cases to access Screen NSW's funds.

Our review found that Screen NSW funding was split 50:50 between Public Access activity - tours, festivals, public screenings - and Industry Development opportunities - conferences, seminars, mentor programs - targeted across the career development spectrum. We expect our funds to continue to deliver a similar range of opportunities.

However we wanted to provide you with greater certainty, flexibilty and a more streamlined process for accessing IAD funds.

Therefore we have created the following streams of funding:
    • Single Purpose (or Project) Funding for projects in NSW that are one-off or annual events, in single or multiple venues (ie festivals and tours) or that support NSW screen professionals (ie conferences, seminars). There will be two calls a year for projects, and we will be looking at projects that will begin within the next six months.
    • Multi-purpose (or Multi-year) Funding is for organisations that either conduct a range of projects that meet Screen NSW's strategic objectives or are organisations that have made a case for multi-year funding (see below). Applications for Multi-purpose Funding will be once a year and is by invitation only.

    See guidelines attached.
