Put your money where the women are!
Do you want to see more great female stories in the theatre? Women in Theatre and Screen (WITS) are producing a two-day women’s theatre festival, Festival Fatale, in October, supported by the Darlinghurst Theatre Company and Creative Partnerships Australia (CPA). WITS are MATCH funding recipients from CPA and are fundraising the remaining costs. WITS is asking theatre and film goers to ‘put your money where the women are’ and pledge support for an independent, feminist theatre festival that showcases groundbreaking, relevant and significant work by women.

WITS is a Sydney-based collective fighting for real workable change to ensure that women are represented equally and with integrity across all creative fields in the theatre and screen industries in Australia. WITS was formed as a response to the ongoing gender disparity on Australian stages and screens, which came to a head with the launch of the 2016 main stage seasons, to steer energy and resources towards positive advocacy and support for women in the industry.
