The Armenian Film Festival Sydney

The Armenian Film Festival Sydney showcases the best of Armenian films and is the only platform of its kind in Australia.

The Armenian Film Festival Sydney was established in 2016 and now, in its second edition, has grown to over 13 films, including feature films, documentaries, animations and short films, in a broad range of genre.

The purpose of the Festival is to showcase the rich Armenian culture, resilience, history, and language through the medium of film, providing a platform for the talent, creativity and storytelling of Armenian and non-Armenian filmmakers from the international film industry. In doing so, the festival aims to entertain and inspire audiences, challenge perspectives and open dialogue about the many issues facing Armenians today.

Head of State and Launch Party

Come along and celebrate the launch of the Armenian Film Festival 2017.

We will be screening the comedy hit Head of State, starring the well-known singer and songwriter Aram MP3 as Grigor Astvatsatryan, an unemployed journalist who blames everyone but himself for his problems then, one day, wakes up as the President of Armenia.

This is a gala event to celebrate the launch of the 2017 Armenian Film Festival. The tickets are valued at $40 per person and includes the screening of Head of State in the Vmax theatre, followed by the exclusive launch party at the Events Bar, with one free drink (beer, wine or soft drink), canapes and prizes.
