I understand the technical side of animation. However, I’d like to know more about narrative structure. Any suggestions?

METRO SCREEN AND THE AUSTRALIAN FILM TELEVISION RADIO SCHOOL (AFTRS) offer a variety of short courses - for both introductory and more experienced practitioners.

How can I get experience working on a production?

APPLY TO ONE OF THE ANIMAL LOGIC TRAINEE PROGRAMS

Animal Logic also has two programs that are currently underway. One is a work experience program for high school students and information for that can be found on the Animal Logic website

The other is an internship program for entry level candidates (e.g. tertiary level graduates or people with a small amount of experience), individuals with production experience who wish to cross train (e.g. from 2D to 3D animation), and for tertiary students looking for an internship within their course of study. CHECK THE WEBSITES OF THE VARIOUS NSW VFX COMPANIES

  • raise the profile of stage and screen design. 
  • highlight the creative contribution made by the mise en scène. 
  • draw attention to professional standards. encourage young designers and associated professionals in the industry. 
  • recognise excellence for outstanding achievements through annual awards. 
  • grant APDG accreditation to outstanding Australian designers.
