A terrifying new fatal neurological disease (Togo-Stangl Disease or TSD), which makes sufferers paranoid and delusional, is affecting 0.8 per cent of women globally and the rate is rising. No one knows where the disease comes from or how women are contracting it. When pregnant journalist Annie Spence almost runs over a little boy who has been kidnapped by a deranged woman infected by the disease, she begins an investigation that will ultimately lead her to question her own sanity.
