NSW digital games practitioners will take their games to the global stage, with a competitive round of applications now open for Screen NSW’s Gamescom 2024 Market Travel Program.
The program will provide support to experienced NSW digital games practitioners for travel costs associated with attending Gamescom 2024 in August.
Gamescom is an annual trade conference held in Cologne, Germany and is one of the world’s largest events for the games industry, showcasing the latest in gaming and providing attendees with global networking opportunities. This year’s event has already been met with unprecedented demand, with early bird registrations setting a new record on uptake.
This is the first year a market travel program has been available for digital games practitioners and expands the NSW Government’s support for the digital games sector. The increased support for the sector was a commitment as part of the Creative Communities policy and sits alongside Screen NSW’s recently launched Digital Games Seed Development Program.
The total grant pool for the program is $25,000, with up to $5,000 per applicant available. Applicants must have a commercial game or games to market at the event.
Applications close Thursday 27 June 2024.

“Supporting NSW practitioners travelling to Cologne through Screen NSW’s Gamescom 2024 Market Travel Program will highlight to international markets the high calibre of talent we have in NSW and means local practitioners will return to the state equipped with global connections, more industry knowledge and can further build on their creativity and capacity to create world class games.”
