Screen NSW is holding a monthly webinar series tohelp demystify market partners andsupportmid-level creatives and producersto feel more confident to create and pitch projects. 

Joining us at 1pm on Friday 31 January 2025 is Greg Denning, Head of Sales & Acquisitions and Development Manager, and Marcus Gillezeau, Head of Production and Development, at STUDIOCANAL Australia. We’ll be discussing STUDIOCANAL Australia's upcoming content slate across development, production and distribution of feature films and hear some insights around the local theatrical market.   

Greg and Marcus will be in conversation with Screen NSW’s Acting Senior Manager, Screen Investment Lauren Edwards followed by an audience Q&A.

Greg Denning 

Greg Denning has a career spanning over 30 years in the entertainment industry, across Exhibition, Distribution and Production businesses, in Sales, Marketing, Programming, Acquisitions and Development roles. He has released over 500 films Theatrically and Programmed many more! 

Since 2013 Greg has been with independent powerhouse STUDIOCANAL, as Head of Sales & Acquisitions and Development Manager. In that time, he initiated the STUDIOCANAL CULTIVATOR DEVELOPMENT FUND which has so far produced upcoming local feature Kangaroo which will release in 2025.  

Prior to STUDIOCANAL, Greg has held key executive positions at Icon Film Distribution and Hoyts Cinemas. 

He served as the 78th President of The Society of Australian Cinema Pioneers and has previously held the position of President of the Australian Independent Distributors Association. 

Marcus Gillezeau 

Marcus Gillezeau leads the Production and Development division of STUDIOCANAL ANZ, operating under Cultivator Films Australia. He is dedicated to championing Australian and New Zealand cultures and talent, focusing on high-quality projects with broad commercial appeal and a well-defined audience. Marcus serves as the Executive Producer of Kangaroo, STUDIOCANAL’s inaugural Australian production. 

Marcus is widely recognised for executive producing high-profile projects across film, television, and digital media. His credits include Nerve, an official selection of the Sydney and Shanghai Film Festivals; the International Emmy® Award-winning TV drama Scorched; and acclaimed feature documentaries such as Own The Sky, Living Universe, Motorkite Dreaming, and the AACTA Award-winning Storm Surfers 3D. 

Before joining STUDIOCANAL, Marcus worked as an independent producer with leading Australian production companies and major broadcasters, including ZDF, Discovery, Nine, ABC TV, and SBS TV. He has also served as a Screen Producers Australia councillor and held board positions with TV Sydney and Metro Screen. 

An accomplished author, Marcus has written two industry-focused books under the HANDS ON title. He holds Master’s degrees in Screen Arts and Business (AFTRS) and Media Arts Production (UTS).
