Up to five experienced game developers from NSW will travel to San Francisco for the 2025 Game Developers Conference (GDC), one of the world’s leading events for developers, with support from Screen NSW.
Screen NSW’s GDC 2025 Market Travel Program opens for applications today and will provide up to $5,000 in travel support for up to five experienced NSW game practitioners for GDC, which will be held from 17 – 21 March in San Francisco, California.
Hosted annually, GDC brings practitioners in the games industry from across the globe together for five days of conference events, exhibitions, networking and awards. Recipients of the market travel program will have the opportunity to connect with business leaders and games practitioners in San Francisco, returning to NSW with valuable knowledge and industry connections to further their careers.
Applications close on Monday 24 February 2024 at 2pm AEDT. For more information and to apply, visit the GDC 2025 Market Travel Program page.
Head of Screen NSW Kyas Hepworth said:
“We saw how vital our Gamescom 2024 Market Travel Program and GCAP 2024 Travel Support Programs were for NSW developers, so I’m thrilled to open another round of our Market Travel Program for practitioners heading to San Francisco for GDC.
“We have first-class developers in our state and supporting them to travel overseas for premier events, such as GDC, gives them an opportunity to make invaluable global connections, discover the latest technological achievements and bring this back to NSW, ensuring their games are on the forefront of creativity and innovation."
Emerging to mid-level NSW creatives will be on the path to success with the announcement of the return of the Screen NSW Short to Feature Fast Track initiative.
20th Century Studios’ Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will receive $17 million in support from the Australian Government, and funding through Screen NSW’s Made in NSW fund.
