AIDC Travel Support

Screen NSW general eligibility requirements can be found in the Screen NSW Terms of Trade, which should be read in conjunction with these guidelines.  

Applicants must: 

• Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander practitioner, with relevant experience in factual taking part in AIDC’s Indigenous Creators Program (preference may be given to those with market-ready projects); or 
• Be an early to mid-career practitioner with relevant experience in factual and you have been invited to pitch in one of AIDC’s competitive programs, or have a slate of market-ready projects to pitch 

Applicants must also be: 

• Able to attend the entire conference from March 3-6, 2024  
• A resident of NSW for at least the past 6 months 
• An Australian citizen. 

 
Screen NSW is committed to supporting increased participation in the industry of people from under-represented groups. Priority will be given to applicants from the following priority areas:  

• Regional NSW  
• Western Sydney  
• First Nations people  
• People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds  
• People living with disability  
• LGBTQIA+ people.  

 
There will be up to three places reserved for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants. 

Up to eight places will be offered in total. 

Funding is limited for this program to $1750 excluding GST per person, from any given project. 

Successful applicants will need to purchase their own pass for the conference.  

Screen NSW can facilitate a reduced rate of $895 including GST, which is a 10% discount, if you are awarded travel support and don’t yet have your pass.  Neither AIDC nor Screen NSW will retrospectively facilitate partial refunds if you have already purchased a full-price pass. 

Your application will be competitively assessed against the following criteria: 

• The strength of your application 
• The strength of your projects 
• Whether you meet any of Screen NSW priority areas 
• Your potential to grow and develop as a practitioner in the factual space. 
  
  

You must submit all core materials listed on the application form.

The submission must include a 2-3 page summary of projects, including synopsis, stage of production, top-line budget, key creatives/production company, and any confirmed financial partners.

If you have been invited to pitch in a competitive program (for example The FACTory International Pitching Forum), please provide this letter of invitation.

Screen NSW uses the SmartyGrants platform for submission of all applications. Applications made using any other format, will not be accepted. Please note you will receive a SmartyGrants acknowledgement of submission.

Applications are assessed on the eligibility and selection criteria. Recommendations will be considered by the Head of Screen NSW. 

If successful, the applicant must enter into and abide by the terms of an agreement with us, which will include deliverables and acquittal requirements.
