NSW developers head to GDC with Screen NSW

Screen NSW GDC 2025 Market Travel Program recipients

Five NSW developers have travelled to San Franciso for Game Developers Conference (GDC), gaining invaluable knowledge and building connections, with the support of Screen NSW’s GDC 2025 Market Travel Program.

Held annually, GDC is one of the world’s leading events for developers. The recipients of the GDC 2025 Market Travel Program, who shared in $25,000 in funding, are:

  • Pat Naoum from Pat Naoum Games with Dragon Valley.
  • Adam Younis from Uppon Hill with Insignia.
  • Matthew Lucis from Silver Stitch Productions with Management In Space.
  • John Daskalopoulos from Not Doppler with Earn to Die Rogue.
  • Marty Burgess from Lighting Forge Games with Gladiator Mayhem.

Each recipient was provided with up to $5,000 in support to cover travel costs, accommodation and registration for the conference. GDC 2025 was held from 17 – 21 March, with practitioners in the games industry from across the globe coming together for five days of conference events, exhibitions, networking and awards.

By attending GDC, recipients had the opportunity to connect with business leaders and games practitioners in San Francisco, returning to NSW with valuable knowledge and industry connections to further their careers.

Increasing support for the Digital Games industry and developers in NSW was a commitment as part of the three-year NSW Screen & Digital Games Strategy. Recently Screen NSW announced the Digital Games Rebate expenditure threshold now lowered to $350,000, meaning it will now be more accessible to a broader range of digital companies in NSW.

This is the third travel support program for digital games offered by Screen NSW, and follows on from Gamescom 2024 Market Travel Program and GCAP 2024 Travel Support Program.
